Still remember from going to places like the Shannon or Room at the Top, anything went, nobody cared through to going to Hollywood where there seemed to be some sort of accepted dance standard. Weird place. Fun, but very dodgy people.
Then there was the school summer party at my son's school in dagenham years ago where I turned up and noticed most of the staff seemed a bit pissed and I was unimpressed but had a few glasses and then heard MC Hammer "Can't touch this!" and decided I could easily do this. I still get reminded of this to this day.

I preferred to stand at the bar all night until the DJ got to the erection section. I invariably ended up with a fat bird.

That dancing with a partner lark - I'm great at it.
I never miss her toes.
That is the aim, isn't it?

Used to be in my younger fitter days... loved a night out at an all nighter with 60's soul and Northern Soul... few drops and spins here and there...

Don't dance at parties. Nightclubs only (and even then I've retired due it old age)
It's not hard, you just move bits of your body in time with the beat of the track. If you can count to 4 it helps as all dance tracks are based on groups of 4 beats

Men should never (NEVER) be good at dancing. All the men I have known who are good at dancing have been either gay or narcissitic tossers. At parties men should stand at the side talking bollocks and sizing up the muff.

One thing I noticed in Germany is that if you dance with a bird in a club it’s considered a formal impression of intent, a contract if you will. They would get the right arseache if you danced with anyone else for the rest of the night

Very very average and I'd say not helped by the fact that generally ended up in clubs playing modern music which I fucking hate.
Will usually have a go 12 pints in when in my head my rhythm is passable yet in reality its still very very average!!
Would have liked to have been up north for the northern soul dance halls, as that music is a bit of me.

This is it about the Jam Rolls; you are expected to ask ladies to dance and will actually cause mild offence if you don’t. Took me years to work out what the fuck was going on but I’m just about alright now.
